LinkedIn Algorithm Insights 2025
Just read Richard van der Blom's amazing LinkedIn Algorithm Report 2025 and the data is eye-opening.
Richard van der Blom published a report based on the analysis of over 1.8 million posts from 58,000 individual profiles and 31,000 company pages.
Few key insights:
Organic reach slashed by almost 50%.
Mobile takes over at 72%.
Company Pages: organic reach barely surviving.
Here's what actually moves the needle in 2025:
1. The "120-minute rule" is real
↳ Engage within first 2 hours of posting
↳ This creates the biggest visibility boost
2. Profile visits = more reach
↳ Visiting profiles boosts visibility by 60%
↳ LinkedIn rewards active "browsing"
3. DMs are algorithm gold
↳ Sending messages increases reach by 90%
↳ Even quick hellos count
4. Comment power beats likes
↳ Comments boost next post reach by 80%
↳ Likes only increase reach by 25%
5. New connections = temporary boost
↳ Get a 7-day reach boost with new connections
↳ Use this strategically
6. Content format shifts
↳ Images up 58% (now 17% of all posts)
↳ Text-only posts declining (-4% YoY)
↳ Documents up 7.5%
↳ Video might see less priority
7. Silent actions matter
↳ Saving posts increases creator visibility by 80%
↳ Even reading without engaging affects your feed
My biggest takeaway: LinkedIn rewards both engagement and silent actions. Saved content is key to strong reach. Focus on creating content people want to save.
Post Template: Attitude Over Aptitude Template
You can use the template below to create content faster with AI. Just provide your context and copy the template. It will help you create content following a viral post structure.
Template:
[SKILL_TYPE] aren't enough
(This might annoy some people)
But it's the truth.
If your [ATTITUDE_ELEMENT]'s off, [TALENT_TYPE] won't get you far.
The best people to [WORK_WITH_CONTEXT] aren't always the most [SKILLED_DESCRIPTOR].
They're the ones who:
→ [POSITIVE_TRAIT_1]
→ [POSITIVE_TRAIT_2]
→ [POSITIVE_TRAIT_3]
Especially when [CHALLENGING_SITUATION].
Because when the [PRESSURE_TYPE] hits, your [MINDSET_ELEMENT] matters more than your [SKILLSET_ELEMENT].
So ask yourself:
Can you [POSITIVE_BEHAVIOR_1] when others [NEGATIVE_BEHAVIOR_1]?
Can you keep [POSITIVE_BEHAVIOR_2] instead of [NEGATIVE_BEHAVIOR_2]?
That's where real [VALUE_TYPE] shows up.
Because a [POSITIVE_QUALITY] beats [TALENT_TYPE] when [CHALLENGING_CONDITION]'s on.
Every time.
