Best opportunity to grow on LinkedIn right now
I break down the top-performing posts to show you what works on LinkedIn this week
Hi there,
I break down the top-performing posts to show you what works on LinkedIn this week.
Here’s what I have for you:
The 3 top performing posts this week
The new opportunity to grow on LinkedIn right now
The 3 best performing posts this week
1. These are NOT job perks
Why this post?
The post went viral, garnering 27k in just 2 days. It received 10-20x more engagement and views than Rob’s posts this week.
What can we learn here?
Whiteboard posts work wonders. I mentioned this last week when Eric’s post went viral. If you have a whiteboard, good calligraphy, and a nice smile, LinkedIn is calling you. This type of content grabs eyeballs.
Challenge common statements. This post does it very well. When discussing perks, many leaders think about salary, training, and so on. The hook and photo make it clear: “These are NOT job perks.” This makes people curious to learn more.
Make it easy to read. Formatting matters. This post has two bullet lists that are easy to read and serve two main purposes: challenge common views and provide a new perspective.
Template: {SOMETHING} is NOT {COMMON BELIEF}.
3. Change is painful
Why this post?
Another viral post this week, it got 25,966 likes in 3 days and performed 4-30 times better than Lara's other posts.
What can we learn here?
Text posts with quote mockup images are highly engaging. I’ve mentioned this type of content multiple times.
Strong hook: The post starts with a tough truth, “Change is painful,” and extends to a sub-hook, “and it’s perfectly fine.” This draws readers in, making them want to understand why it’s fine and how to embrace changes better.
Use bullet lists to answer key questions. This post effectively uses a bullet list to address, “How can we actively embrace change?”
End with an open question to encourage conversation: “When was the last time you noticed a change in yourself?”
3. You don’t learn to ride a bike without falling down a few times.
Why this post?
This short and viral post went crazy this week, garnering 35,540 likes in 3 days. It performed 5-30 times better than Steven's other posts.
What can we learn here?
Twitter-style images on billboards are highly popular. Refer to last week's post #2 for a similar trend. This type of content performs well on LinkedIn.
The image is key. The image itself is a great piece of content, and the text in the LinkedIn post is short, extending the core message from the image.
End with an open question to spark conversation.
The new opportunity to grow on LinkedIn right now
Trends help you grow on LinkedIn.
It’s much easier to get more attention when the system itself helps you, and trends are a great way to achieve that.
There are 2 types of trends:
Situational trends: news, announcements, etc.
Platform trends: new features that LinkedIn promotes.
What’s the current trend?
Videos.
Vertical videos on LinkedIn are the current platform trend. The algorithm is currently boosting videos, so if you want more reach, try publishing videos on LinkedIn.
Don't miss this opportunity!
That's a wrap for today.
